Hey!
Today I have started reading 1 Samuel. His mom, Hannah, had a closed womb, but when she prayed for a son, God heard her prayer and answered it by giving her Samuel. I am so so thankful that each of us have been given a child in our wombs. Praise God for our babies!

Speak Up
Today I read Judges Chapter 19. It's about how this woman is abused and killed. Then at the end the author says to "Consider it, confer, and speak up!" (Judges 19:30). It is sad to think of how many times we see something bad going on, but because we are so immune to it, we simply let it pass us by saying 'someone should do something'. Perhaps that someone is us. The Bible does say to 'speak up'. That one is a hard one for me.

Hey Guys, I am really just reading through chapter 16 in the psalms right now. I love the Nancy Leigh DeMoss study I am doing right now. When we get together I'll have to bring it to show you guys. My next step is to do some journaling- I think that will help cement some things that I am thinking and feeling aout God. I would really like to plot down specific times to read or journal between feedings for Corinne. It's a little hard to get it all done in a day- as you both know so well!!

Samson begins
Hey Cheryl and Jen,
It was great hanging out at the Mexican restaurant last night! This week my thoughts come from Judges chapter 13. Samson is born and an Angel of the Lord comes and talks to his parents and prepares them. I like this part "and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistins" (Judges 13:5). I thought this was cool because it doesn't say he will accomplish great things but that he will begin great things. That makes me realize that in my own life I might not have to finish great things, but maybe I just have to start them. On the other hand, maybe I just need to finish something that someone else started. The journey of my life could be more important than what I actually finish. Let me know your thoughts when you can.

Gideon directing glory back to God
Hey Girls,
I have just finished reading Judges chapter 8. I like verse 22-23. It says "Then the men of Israel said to Gideon, "Rule over us, both you and your son, and your grandson also; for you have delivered us from the hand of Midian." but Godeon said to them, "I will not rule over you, nor shall my son rule over you; the Lord shall rule over you." Gideon had just won them a big battle and they thought it was due to Gideon's strength. Instead he pointed the glory back to God who really did the work. In this story, Gideon reminded me of Josh. Often times when I get proud of something Josh did, I praise him for a job well done. But most of the time Josh always says I didn't do anything, but God did. Give God the glory. I still think it's my job to praise Josh so that I can build him up, but I think it's cool how he redirects the praise.
Look forward to your thoughts this week.

Welcome
Well guys, Let's try this blog out as a way to keep accountable for our Bible Posts. It should be fun since we can all add our own pictures and it would be something that we can go back and look at regularly. We may want to try to get together and work on it together so we all know how it works. right now we are the only three that can view it or add any posts. Have fun!
